Angela's Story
I was introduced to Mr. Sunderman by our financial advisor to assist with planning for my sister Barbara. She had exhausted her assets paying for care in assisted living and eventually moved to a nursing facility on Medi-Cal. Barbara was forced to sell her house to pay outstanding bills and taxes. Unfortunately, the sale disqualified Barbara from Medi-Cal benefits.
Mr. Sunderman prepared a plan to pay Barbara’s bills, introduced us to a tax specialist to deal with the taxes, rearranged her remaining assets according to Medi-Cal guidelines, and then helped us re-apply for Medi-Cal. He never charged us a fee for his services!
Unfortunately, inadequately trained and improperly informed Medi-Cal eligibility workers declined her application three times.
Mr. Sunderman helped us to prepare for a “fair hearing” to present our story to an administrative Judge. Prior to the hearing date, the Judge called to inform me that our case was approved retroactive and that going to a hearing was not necessary. It became obvious that Mr. Sunderman was more concerned about our rights and knowledgeable about our entitlements than the Medi-Cal eligibility workers in our county!
My sister Barbara has now passed away and the circumstances of her estate require probate. Sure enough Mr. Sunderman assisted in finding legal representation for our family.
